Human Resources Manager

The George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual for a Human Resources Manager position. Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the law school’s primary point of contact for all human resources matters and liaison to the University’s Human Resources Department, communicating relevant human resources information to law school employees;
  • Manage the hiring of classified, administrative professional faculty, and instructional and research faculty including position posting, search committee management, hiring paperwork, and employee onboarding/orientation;
  • Manage the employee annual performance review process;
  • Reviews, analyzes, develops, and recommends changes to the schools policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters as they relate to efficiency and effectiveness; makes recommendations to senior staff and monitors and ensures compliance with university policy;
  • Consult with Workforce Planning on any salary transactions & prepare paperwork for the quarterly review process;
  • Manage administrative support services for the instructional faculty, including the supervision of faculty service secretaries; and
  • Serves on committees and coordinates special projects. Initiates and fulfills additional responsibilities consistent with the strategic and leadership expectations associated with this position.


Required Qualifications:
  • Must have a bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree and demonstrated prior academic and human resources management experience; and
  • PHR certification.
