Academic advising at Marymount University involves assessing student needs, goals and interests in order to guide students to complete their first year of college successfully and transition to a faculty advisor in their major field. This position is responsible for advising first year undergraduate students in the School of Business and Technology and Undeclared Transfer students.
Advisors collaborate with faculty members and professional staff to coordinate programs and activities that address the needs of individuals or groups of students.
Advisors are also responsible for understanding and interpreting the Collegeâ€™s policies and academic options of all degree and certificate programs to help facilitate the studentâ€™s academic success.
- Masterâ€™s degree required.
- 2 to 4 years of related experience with college students or young adults in an academic or counseling capacity
- Demonstrated experience or interest in helping students transition from high school into a traditional 4-year college program.
Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Business Administration, or academic advising.
