Human Resources Assistant – Federal Government Experience.
Do you have at least 3 years of Human Resources experience in the Federal Sector? We have a need for a Human Resources Assistant for a Government Agency here in Washington, DC for a contract that will last for at least 6 months. Duties will include reviewing and processing documentation involved in executing personnel actions, updating employee information in a variety of systems/databases, and managing vacancy documents/processes in concert with a Human Resources Specialist.
Typically, work involves reviewing a variety of official personnel actions, examining them for correct citations of legal authority, effective dates and natures of action, and inputting those actions into their computer system/databases while reviewing outputs and ensuring corrections as necessary. Will also scan and upload documents into the electronic Official Personnel File (e-OPF), and maintain files, related documents and other personnel documents.
An Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in human resource management is preferred. Previous experience in human resources within the Federal sector is also required. Microsoft Office is also needed along with written and verbal communication skills since HR Assistants are often key points of contact for employees and other organizations. Adequate training and an understanding of Federal employment laws and regulations are essential.
