The National Guard's full-time support program requires that all military technicians are members of the National Guard and are appointed to full-time positions which correspond to their military assignments. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership.

Other requirements: For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience using computer and automation systems.
FOR GS-09: Must possess at least twelve (12) months of finance budget experiences and competencies that provided knowledge of financial principles and procedures. Must possess at least three (3) months of basic finance budget training or competencies that provided knowledge of financial principles and procedures. Must possess some understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the National Guard financial budget business program requirements. Must have a good understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the National Guard financial budget business program requirements. Must possess experiences and training that demonstrate the abilities to follow directions, to read, retain, and understand a variety of instructions, regulations, policies and procedures.
FOR GS-11: Must possess least twenty-four (24) months of finance budget experiences and competencies that provided knowledge of financial principles and procedures. Must have an excellent understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the National Guard financial budget business program requirements. Must possess experiences and training that demonstrates the abilities to follow directions, to read, retain, and understand a variety of instructions, regulations, policies and procedures.
Must have a high school diploma or general education development (GED) diploma. An under-graduate degree from an accredited college/university is optimum.
To qualify for GS-0560 dual status technician positions on the basis of completed undergraduate or graduate education, the college degree education must be in one of -or- be a combination of the following required disciplines: Accounting, business, finance, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organizational management. Technician applicants, who completed the Army Financial Technical School course and were awarded the applicable and compatible military skills, are considered minimally qualified for the GS-07 or GS-09 entry-level position.
