Job Description:

Sentara RMH Medical Center, a Magnet designated hospital located in Harrisonburg VA, is currently seeking a Registered Nurse for the Electrophysiology/ EP lab

Hours/Shift:

Full Time (40 hours) day shift position, no call time, typically 7am to 5:30pm, 10 hours days scheduled however can be longer due to cases.

Department/Position Overview:

The RMH Invasive Cardiovascular unit is a growing service providing complex procedural care to over 2000 patients a year. The EP lab team is an important part of the highly skilled cardiac invasive team. The EP lab performs cardiac ablations, pacemaker/ICD implants, and structural heart procedures. This position would also be providing support to the cath lab holding area where prep/recovery occurs for invasive procedures as well as providing sedation assistance for transthoracic echos and cardioversions. Experience with sedation, cardiac, or procedural experience would all be pluses!

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

New Hire Education Requirement: All Registered Nurses who do not have their BSN will be required to sign a BSN Agreement committing to successfully obtain their BSN within 5 years of hire. BSN or MSN preferred. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty; Critical Care/IMCU/EP/Advanced Heart Failure Center/SMG Cardiology Practices- ACLS within 1 year of hire; All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
