Job Description

Department Marketing Statement:

WMATA’s Asset Management Systems group is seeking is seeking a Documentum Administrator who will be responsible to administer, maintain, and support the Documentum instances at the Authority. The candidate should be a highly engaged and technical solutions driven individual to provide hands on Production support as needed. The ideal candidate should have experience working in various Documentum environments ranging from 6.5 up to 7.3 Content Server and supported versions of Xplore, Webtop, Process Builder, Documentum Administrator, Documentum Composer, Content Transformation Services, and other Documentum suite of products. The candidate should have demonstrated experience in developing basic and complex DQLs, API methods for Documentum Administration as well as strong DBA skills to manage Documentum databases. Solid experience in installing and configuring Documentum Content Server, Index Server, Index Agents, Webtop, Documentum Administrator across multiple OS platforms is required. Candidate must also possess strong Unix/Linux/AIX administration skills along with Window Server 2008/2012 server administration skills. Experience in deploying applications like Webtop and other Java/JSEE applications on various application servers such as Apache Tomcat and Weblogic is highly desired. The candidate should be well versed in performing data migrations and setting up application integration from Documentum to collaboration platforms such as SharePoint. A strong foundation in Documentum’s Object Model hierarchy, Docbase security, DFC, DFS, and BOF is required. Prior experience in developing Java/J2EE application is a huge plus. Should have experience in performing Documentum In-Place and Migration Upgrades. Experience in setting up High Availability and handling Disaster Recovery solutions in Documentum is highly preferred. Prior experience with Captiva InputAccel and/or Captiva Capture is a huge plus. Should be an active team player who possesses excellent customer service, communication, and documentation skills. Experience and/or strong awareness in working with Asset Management solutions such as IBM Maximo and Product Lifecycle Management solutions such as Windchill is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, Business or Public Administration or related field. Six (6) years progressively responsible experience in diversified information systems, communications systems management, and technical experience in a large organization, including some experience in the development of major IT policies.

Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered if candidate can effectively demonstrate progressively responsible experience in diversified information systems, communications systems management, and technical experience in a large organization, including some experience in the development of major IT policies.

Job Summary/Duties:

This position is located in the Washington Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority (WMATA), Department of Information Technology (IT). This is a highly technical and professional position that involves maintaining, updating, and upgrading a growing, secure, and stable document management platform. The individual in this position performs highly technical work in the development, maintenance, and support of the SharePoint infrastructure. The employee performs the work as a member of the SharePoint Production Support team.

Monitors, supports, and troubleshoots to maintain a robust system with consistent availability, upgrade options, and increased capacity.

Assists in coordinating with WMATA departments and developing upgrade plans for WMATA Documentum requirements, maintenance, operations, and support issues.

Ensures efficient maintenance, support, and troubleshooting. Ensures efficiency and standards are being met according to the guidelines set forth by the Authority.

Troubleshoots intranet issues associated with Documentum users. 

Remains abreast of new developments in document management applications and related technologies, to the extent that these developments may benefit WMATA.

Implements document management policies, procedures, and standards, and ensure their conformance with WMATA objectives.
