IA Computer Specialist/Systems Administrator

Research and Engineering Development, LLC, in support of the Human Systems Integration Department, Naval Air Systems Command located in Patuxent River, Maryland, is seeking an immediate fill for an Computer Scientist/Computer Hardware Technician/NGEN Support/ Information Assurance Professional. Duties include managing computer systems and automated information programs that support the technical requirements of the customer. Troubleshooting hardware and software issues, NGEN Enterprise Tool (NET) administration, IMM & Heat to process phone, voicemail and computer moves, personnel cube assignments, validating NGEN computers, software, and personnel using access database, conducting inventory checks, assist in reviewing documents for submittal to helpdesk, function as back up for facilities personnel to resolve issues in labs and office space, and assist with door security programming.
The successful candidate will have an in depth knowledge of computer assemblies; hands on familiarity with networking and troubleshooting both hardware and software issues; be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 2007 and Windows 7 Operating System, Microsoft Office Suite 2010, as well as Windows 10 and Linux Red Hat operating systems. Candidates shall have knowledge in credentials and PKI, Risk Management Framework as well as knowledge of installation, configuration, administration, and Security Technical Implementation Guides. Experience as a Systems Administrator is required. Computer Environment Certifications: Security + CE, CAP, or GSLC are required; CISSP is a plus.
A Computer Science Bachelor’s Degree is highly desired or in lieu of a degree, successful candidates will have specialized training and certificates in the field of Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology and Cyber Security.
Successful candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or a related field with 2-to-5 years of experience, in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, candidates must have recent demonstrated programming experience with 5-10 years of experience. Must have excellent computer skills, be a self-starter, and work well in a team environment. Travel may be required in performance of the duties assigned. Candidates must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present findings/briefings as necessary. U.S. Citizenship and a current security clearance are required.
