Primary Duties Include:

Manages all aspects of the production and distribution of the quarterly Journal, which includes soliciting articles and columns, editing articles and columns (corresponding with authors and Journal Board members), and organizing the design and printing/publishing/distribution

Copyedit website content, newsletters, research reports, conference materials, marketing collateral, email communications and other AGA materials

Draft copy for website, newsletters, awards programs, national president columns, marketing collateral, email communications and other AGA materials

Write articles about AGA programs for submission to external websites, newsletters and magazines

Use content management system (Kentico) to update and maintain copy on AGA website; help streamline copy, and improve user experience and search engine optimization

Review CCRs for readability and understanding and provide written comments back to submitting organizations

Work collaboratively with staff/departments to effectively promote AGA

Serves as staff liaison to the Journal Editorial Board (including annual author award judging)

Other duties as assigned



Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or a related degree

Five+ years of copywriting, editing and proofreading experience, ideally in an association

Working knowledge of AP Style and how to use it effectively

Demonstrated ability to serve as primary copyeditor to manage for accuracy, style, design and adherence to brand standards

Self-starter, highly organized project manager, able to balance multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

Proficiency using content management systems

Enthusiastic, creative, flexible team player who embraces challenges and works proactively
