Enterprise Storage Administrator (System Programmer II)
Seeking a senior technical expert to join the Department of Information Technology Enterprise Storage Management team. Responsibilities include planning, designing, implementing, monitoring and maintenance of large scale storage solutions and data back-up across the enterprise and data recovery environments. Must possess solid understanding of Enterprise Storage concepts and architectures as well understanding of the complex systems and distributed platforms the storage is presented to. Develops project plans for storage projects. Supports enterprise-wide data storage daily operations, reporting and data analytics development. Provide third level escalation support for enterprise back-ups and the county's storage infrastructure, responds to emergency maintenance requirements and provides 24 x 7 support as needed. Serves as an integral part of the technical support team, working closely with the applications and systems analysts, server and storage managers, and other IT professionals and business managers to develop and execute IT programs. Assist in county-wide project planning, technology investigation, training and implementation of server back-up and SAN solutions. Advise DIT senior management, and agencies' IT Analysts on determining requirements and assist in maximizing the features and capabilities of the Enterprise Storage systems Participates in COOP and DR activities. Performs other duties as assigned.Employment Standards MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to the following: possession of an associate's degree in computer science or related field; plus four years' systems programming experience; or possession of a bachelor's degree in computer science, or closely related field; plus two years' systems programming experience in a complex information systems environment.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.
Six years of storage experience planning, installing, upgrading, maintaining complex enterprise storage systems. Demonstrated knowledge and experience supporting enterprise storage systems from the following storage systems or equivalent: NetApp FAS/AFF, IBM XIV, Infinidat. Experience with Enterprise SAN and/or NAS architectures and experience working with Actifio, Veritas Net Backup or similar competing backup and Copy Data Management products - on premise of 'cloud". Working knowledge of records retention and electronic data management a plus.
Work is generally sedentary, performed in office or data center environment. Some lifting of equipment up to 50 pounds may be required. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
