Axios is seeking a full-time Senior Director of Marketing, who will work cross-functionally to make Axios consumption a daily ritual for readers across the country. This person will lead all efforts in planning and executing compelling campaigns that increase awareness and attract new readers to our brand. The ideal candidate for this role will be creative, collaborative and data-driven. They will be relentless about reaching smart professional audiences and dedicated to finding all possible avenues for owning the market of curious readers. This role has strategic and operational responsibilities and will often manage multiple, concurrent initiatives while moving at a fast pace. Additionally, they will be a strong developer of people, with success in attracting, developing and retaining high-performing talent. RESPONSIBILITIES Develops innovative ways to attract the smart professional and smart curious reader, identifying new opportunities to feature our content on social and referral sites, set up in-kind partnerships with other media companies or high-growth companies Leads generation of ideas and creative strategies for acquiring new, engaged readers through email, direct and high-quality referral sources. Responsible for identifying new referral sources and experimenting with how we partner with them Collaborates with the tech and design team to find creative uses of technology to help us capture and retain the smart professional and smart curious readers on our site Partners closely with our expert communities to acquire, engage and retain experts and external contributors QUALIFICATIONS 5-8 years of experience in marketing, ideally with B2C marketing Experience in identifying, segmenting, and targeting audiences Experience in high-growth or start-up companies or campaigns Community marketing and influencer marketing experience is a plus Campaign planning experience is a plus BENEFITS Competitive Salary Health Insurance (100% paid for individuals, 75% for families) Primary caregiver 12-week paid leave 401K Generous vacation policy, plus company holidays Company equity Commuter and cell phone benefit A commitment to an open, inclusive, and diverse work culture
