Contract: Army G2 ARIESPosition: Sr Engineer, Hardware - Hardware Engineer (L3)Location: Pentagon GENERAL SUMMARY: GDIT is seeking candidates to support the US Army G2. Under the Army Intelligence Information Technology Environment Support (ARIES) task order, the G2 supports numerous Army organizations providing mission critical intelligence tailored to the needs of Army senior leaders throughout the globe. The ability of these organizations to provide this needed intelligence is dependent on the availability and successful operation of their Information Technology (IT). The ARIES contract provides IT repair, maintenance, operations, logistics, engineering and cybersecurity services to ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of the organization's IT systems.Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Hardware Engineer will:Provide hardware engineering expertise to analyze complex hardware systems, hardware design, architecture, network design and other technical hardware issuesProcure and perform acceptance testing of equipmentProvide hardware maintenance support, both preventative and remedial. Deploy, install, and implement hardware at Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) locationsPrepare specifications for hardware by analyzing documented and derived system requirementsConduct site surveysPrepare engineering plans and site Technical Design PackagesOrganize and direct hardware installations. Configure (and document configuration of) computers, networking devices and various peripheral equipmentPrepare site installation and test reports. Ensure that problems have been properly identified and solutions will satisfy the user's requirementsPrepare reports and recommendations concerning existing and emerging hardware technologiesProvide specific input to the hardware components of system design to include end-user devices, servers, networking devices, data storage devices, and specialized processors Direct the work of other hardware engineers on projects requiring a variety of hardware engineering activities and tasksDesirable Skills / Experience:Plan all phases of hardware projects to include schedules, budgets, and maturation of technical performance parametersWork closely with system engineering and test engineering to develop and validate the hardware portion of test plans, test procedures, throughput models, failure analysis, and risk analysis. Develop proposals for the Program Manager to reduce or avoid customer costs in up-front acquisition costs or operational/disposal costsOrganize and direct teams to address critical system failures that potentially derive from hardware component failure or misconfigurationCertifications:DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contractRequired Security Environment Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalentDesired Computing Environment Certification: ITIL V3 Foundation, or MCSASecurity Clearance:TS/SCI required Additional Qualifications:Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contractPosition may require lifting of objects (ie IT hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (ie plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity5-8 years of related hardware engineering experienceAs a trusted systems integrator for more than 50 years, General Dynamics Information Technology provides information technology (IT), systems engineering, professional services and simulation and training to customers in the defense, federal civilian government, health, homeland security, intelligence, state and local government and commercial sectors.With approximately 32,000 professionals worldwide, the company delivers IT enterprise solutions, manages large-scale, mission-critical IT programs and provides mission support services.GDIT is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
