Position: Network Engineer Location: Beltsville, MD Duration: Contract to Perm Description: Principle IT Specialist (Systems Engineer) shall provide services to perform all activities necessary to run and maintain GOTS ATAK systems Provide System Administration support services Code Linux operating systems Code Juniper network equipment and associated routers and switches equipment items Participate in Technical Exchange Meeting (TEMs) as required for the GOTS ATAK product Assist in preparing, reviewing, and assessing the GOTS ATAK Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documentation to obtain Initial Authority to Test (IATT) and Authority to Operate Letter documentation for HTT aligned projects as it pertains to the protective threat system. Assist in preparing, reviewing, and assessing of the security engineering documentation as it pertains to the GOTS ATAK Network Assist in the development and maintenance of network diagrams and system diagrams to support the enterprise architecture Assist in the network maintenance and support activities as required. Assist in preparing, reviewing and assessing of network requirements and various project documentation for the protective threat project. Assist in the development of network security engineering requirements Participate in TEMs and ad hoc meetings as required, to evaluate network infrastructure development Assist in preparation for network testing and analysis of test results Assist in planning for the transitioning from and existing production network environment to standing up a new instance in another production environment Experience Required: Minimum 5 years of IT network engineering experience Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or closely related field of study Experience with Mobility Applications Experience with Juniper network equipment and experience with coding Juniper routers and switches Experience Preferred: Professional level working knowledge of Linux operating system code as well as coding of Juniper network equipment and associated equipment coding for routers and switches EEO Employer Apex is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
