Mission Planning System Engineer
.Superior Group and our client located in Fairfax, VA has a long term contract available and is looking for a Mission Planning Systems Engineer with an Active Secret ClearanceAll candidates MUST be US CitizensThis position requires technical disciplines such as training, IAMD planning and execution, technical manual oversight, and system level testing and evaluation.Candidate must possess a strong, proven understanding of deployed IAMD systems with the ability to interact with end-user operators. Position requires candidate to create and conduct training of IAMD systems, development of operational manuals including development of Capabilities and Limitations documentation. Performs requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, detail trade studies, systems integration and test (verification), validation and interface definition studies of system, subsystem or system elements with minimal supervision of the lead systems engineerPerforms technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for subsystems and system elementsPerforms customer requirements analysis, develops system requirements and defines allocations to lower levels (subsystem, elements and components)Performs detailed technical analyses for a system, subsystem or system elementsDevelops and evaluates systems, networks and information systems to ensure designs meet applicable governmental security specificationsMay provide system accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical security features (eg, identification, authentication, access control, labeling, and auditing) of the system are considered and function properlyMay develop system security documentation on both new and fielded information systemsContributes to detailed technical analyses at the system of system (SOS) levelSynthesizes solutions to meet customer expectations and technical performance while staying within schedule and cost constraintsLeads Modeling and Simulation activitiesResearches and analyzes data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or applicationSupports the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycleResearches, designs, and develops systems, in conjunction with software and hardware product development, applying principles and techniques of systems engineering, modeling and simulation and analysisProvides leadership and direction to lower level employeesLeads technical tasks for small teams or projectsBegins to provide engineering support to proposalsParticipates in or leads SOW generation for subcontractsExercises latitude in determining technical objectives of assignmentsGuides the successful completion of major programs and projectsPlans and executes significant project tasks for activities described aboveCreative, innovative responsibilities requiring advanced decision-making skillsDefines processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and software compatibilityDesigns a complete and complex framework, system or productDetermines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead)Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining resultsHaving wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective waysIdentifies, analyzes and resolves system design weaknessesFrequent contact with managers within and outside of EngineeringFrequent contact with project teams across the companyFrequent contact with external customers and vendorsOccasional contact with Business DevelopmentWorks without appreciable directionProvides resolution to a diverse range of complex problems which require the use of ingenuity and creativityKeeps abreast of technology trendsContributes to the achievement of business objectivesContributes to the development of new theories and methods.Required Skills / Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in systems engineeringMinimum of 8 years' experience as Mission Planning System EngineerMinimum of 2 years' experience developing system requirements and supporting materialMinimum of 2 years' experience with Air and Missile Defense (AMD) capabilitiesMinimum of 2 years' experience with Combat System engineering, Minimum of 2 years' experience with ship comms,Minimum of 2 years' experience with ship link networks;Minimum of 2 years' experience with test planning.
