This includes analysis of income statement accounts, preparation of recurring and ad-hoc journal entries, preparing financial statements, and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts. Other responsibilities include: supporting the A/R teams in processing write-offs, assisting in the annual audit, and maintaining accounting documentation. Individual should have a full understanding of appropriate GAAP and associated business processes. A qualified individual must be detailed oriented, have strong analytical skills, and display a strong work ethic. The individual must be able to communicate with other entities and departments regarding accounting impact and functionality. The Senior Accountant will also be responsible for the management and development of the staff accountant.Essential Functions:Responsible for close procedures and preparation of monthly financial statements involving multiple countries and currenciesPrepare and post general ledger journal entriesEnsure an accurate a timely close processPartner with other corporate departments and other related entities to ensure proper accounting for revenues and expensesAnalyze current processes, identify inefficiencies, and suggest improvementsPrepare documentation and schedules for other departments as requestedWork on special projects as management requestsAssist in the preparation and review of supporting documentation for auditsPrepare and analyze account reconciliationsReview reconciliations prepared by othersWillingness to travel internationally if requiredRequisite Abilities and/or Skills:Ability to review and analyze financial statements with a solid understanding of financial concepts and applicationsExperienced with overall financial close - including preparation of general ledger reconciliationsExcellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders and other corporate departmentsStrategic thinker with excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, interpersonal, and relationship building skillsAbility to work independently and identify information and/or resources needed to complete assignmentsCapable of balancing multiple work demands and setting priorities to meet strict deadlinesAbility to hold team member, peers, and supervisors accountableAbility to effectively evaluate talent, coach, train, and develop all team membersStrong proficiency with Microsoft Office and especially Microsoft ExcelExperience with PeopleSoft & Oracle Hyperion Financial Management a plusMinimum Education and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or CPA2+ years of work experience related to financial accounting/reporting
