This company is looking for a Technical Writer to join their Information Security team since this has been a gap within the team. They don't have someone dedicated right now focus on technical writing and documentation for their security operations and incident handling programs. This is slated as a 6-12 month contract at this time. This person should have strong documentation skills with a background in IT. Responsibilities*Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of systems and process and the documentation requirements*Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on developing a singular style and refining and improving documentation standards*Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience*Maintain document library and update older documentation to current standards*Ability to proofread, edit language and set standards for documentation*Revise documents as needed*Person needs to self-directed for day to day work.*Need to have desktop publishing skills with large documents.*Experience with planning and estimating is helpful*Able to manage own workload*Able to prioritize activities Requirements*Proven working experience in technical writing of documentation*Ability to read and write quickly.*Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently*Experience with robotics and electronics a plus, but not required*Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail*Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures*Ability to coordinate with multiple personnel to assemble required information*Able to work with sometimes difficult personalities*Excellent written skills in English*Strong working knowledge of Microsoft OfficePrimary Focus: Operational Documentation as it relates to the following initial areas.* Every runbook needs to be placed into a single approved format that is catalogued and formatted to meet document standards. Possible look to at creating and managing through ServiceNow (SNOW) Security Incident or GRC module:o Security Incident Response Program (Plan, Process, Procedures, Team, Report) Phishing, Impersonation, Malware, Physical, etc. Major Incident (MI) Security Plan* Information Security (InfoSec)* Information Services (I/S)o Daily / Frequent ticket requests/ needs for Service Nowo Services Documentationo Data Loss Prevention (DLP) o Rapid 7o Encaseo Security Operations Center (SOC )o Zero FoxProjects Running with phase 2 of SOC, working with the Project Management team at Solutionary 200 + network devices (Phase 1), Windows/UNIX servers, and Oracle databases (Phase 2)o Have to configure all the servers so it gets pushed through the data center and out to Solutionary in order to appropriately log events Working with ZeroFox for integrating a portal (SaaS) to analyze data or threats on social media sites (Facebook, twitter, etc.)o Secure WorksSecurity Incident Response process (Chris Zak is evaluating)* Solutionary (SOC)* Dell Secure Works (forensics)* DLP (Symantec) sitting the Data Center on Research Park Drive but not being utilized to its capacity* PhishMe (Anti-phishing software) 25,000 client end points, 200+ cases for phishing events* Encase (eDisovery tool)* Bluecoat security appliances* Rapid7 (Threat Detection and penetration testing)* GRC (incorporated within Service Now)Secondary Focus: Support of ongoing initiatives and/or security incidents as they arise.* Security Incident Response Report (SIRR) - Point person for Security Incidents in terms of managing the SIR report for each and every Security Incident allowing our analysts to stay focused on technical taskso 50% of their time will be spend on this task* Monthly Metrics - ownership of monthly report that analyst feed data intoo 20% of their time will be spent in this area over the next 6 months at which time total effort should begin to drop off someAbout TEKsystems:Join TEKsystems(R), a leading IT staffing, IT talent management and IT services firm, and get your career on the fast track.
