About The Job Sandy Spring Bank is currently recruiting a Business Analyst in the Strategic Initiatives Department. If you are the chosen candidate, you will be responsible for providing strategic business analysis to various business units throughout the bank; gain in-depth understanding of business unit strategy, processes, services, roadmap and context in which the business operates; gain understanding of how technology impacts and enables the processes throughout the business units; review business process from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial and technological areas for improvement in efficiency. You will provide consulting to IT and business management on applying technology to business opportunities, planning and implementation of cross-functional applications; act as a steward of business interest on projects to deliver the right solution with a focus of product features, controls and cost; create an environment where performers are motivated to do the right thing and excel as well as provide input to senior management on department/area-level challenges and opportunities. Areas of Focus: Business Analysis/Internal Consulting Application Implementation Project Methodology Vendor Liaison Required Skills: 3-5 years' experience as a business analyst with a Bachelor's degree in business/technology or related field. Must have experience in business analysis, process reengineering, develop and implement training, designing and writing procedures and application configuration and analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio and Microsoft Project. Advanced problem solving skills and operational knowledge of all banking units and understanding of complex financial and programming analysis. Strong analytical and product management skills and ability to interpret customer business needs. Development of procedures and presentation of formal training internally. Ability to work with independent judgement in the interpretation of existing procedures and recommendations of alternative procedures and work routines. High level of mental effort involving complex applications and ability to work under tight time constraints. Ability to develop and execute detailed testing scripts, plans and project documentation that minimizes bank risk.
