Our client is seeking an interim Payroll Manager to support a large organization. The Payroll Manager will manage the payroll process in its entirety and consider ways to streamline current processes and procedures. You'll be reporting to the Controller and this person will work closely with the HR, Benefits and Finance teams. This is an exciting opportunity for a CPP to join a well established company and support the payroll department on a project basis. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Process semi-monthly payroll with detail and accuracy for approximately 1000+ employees,multiple entities Ensure the integrity of all data entered into the payroll system including new employees subsequent changes to employee information Identify and implement processing and reporting best practices, solutions, and systems to streamline and automate processes across teams Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.) for management and various departments. Performs various journal entries, account reconciliations, and provides general ledger support (eg, bonus accruals, research cash / expense discrepancies). Calculate bonus payments, PTO, missed hours, including severance payouts Look for system improvements; process various system audits to ensure the accuracy of information (monthly quarterly) Document payroll processes and create and improve standard operating procedures Manage Time and Attendance data entry for all employees. Analyze and respond to all Tax inquiries on a Federal and State level. Drive compliance with various legal requirements including wage garnishments etc Prepare federal and state quarter-end and year-end reconciliations and filings, including W-2s, T-4s and 1095-Cs Ensure accurate payroll record-keeping of W-2s, timekeeping, and other payroll related documents in compliance with tax and other government regulations. Experience with time and attendance systems Experience with pay differentials, ACH transactions and positive pay Experienced with hierarchy of garnishmentsQUALIFICATIONS Five or more years of experience in payroll management Strong analytical skills, mathematical aptitude; excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated leadership ability, and advanced computer skills, including Word and Excel Excellent attention to detail and desire to learn Must be highly organized in a fast-paced environment with superior time management skills Must be adaptable to change and be able to work independently for long periods of time Experience implementing new HRIS software products Certified Payroll Processor preferredOur industry-leading alliances and broad client network provide you greater access to a variety of unique interim and long-term project opportunities that can keep you continuously engaged.
