*We are hiring for Seasonal Stitchers this Summer/Fall 2017; this is a TEMPORARY position July 2017-May 2018* Construct, fit, alter, and refurbish costumes for all WNO productions, galas, concerts, and events. Contribute to the efficient and professional execution of work performed in the Costume Workroom. Duties and Responsibilities: Production 75% Measure costumes for all rented and remounted productions as assigned. Pre-alter and refurbish costumes prior to fittings as assigned. Construct and alter costumes as instructed by the Draper and First Hand. Complete notes from all costume fittings and dress rehearsals. Maintain WNO quality standards. Ensure that all work is completed accurately and on schedule. Assist in the completion of post-production work on all costumes. Assist the Draper or First Hand in costume fittings as needed. Assist the Draper or First Hand at dress rehearsals as needed. Costume Studio Facility 10% Contribute to a safe and comfortable working environment. Maintain a clean and organized workspace. Ensure that equipment and supplies are properly maintained. Keep informed about industry standards and new products. Other 15% Assist in the completion of costume stock projects as requested. Assist with the organization and storage of all fabrics, trims, and supplies. Set up and monitor volunteer projects as required. Provide costume support for other company departments as necessary. Other department needs as assigned by the Costume Director. Education/Experience High School Diploma or equivalent with professional training in clothing construction. Construction and tailoring of men's and women's clothing. Minimum Skills and/or Knowledge Required Must be highly motivated and a self-starter Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of costume history. Working knowledge of various costume construction skills, including sewing, cutting, and tailoring. Proficiency in the operation of all costume workroom equipment. Basic knowledge of workroom equipment maintenance. The John F.
