Messaging Product Manager
Overview Publishing Services, an Agora company, is currently seeking a driven and energetic candidate to join their team as the manager of their Advanced Messaging Platform (AMP) and Signup applications. As the Messaging Product Manager, you will assist the Director of Messaging by running the daily operations for each product. This includes managing software releases, QA testing, Tier 2 support, and assisting with the development of new features. Manage the rollout of software releases. Help maintain product documentation. Gather requirements. Analyze requirements. Maintain and prioritize the product backlog. Work with project managers and vertical directors to set expectations. Keep team on track with deadlines. Implement established Publishing Services processes in the course of his/her work. Support development operations. Troubleshoot problems and issues. Research emerging technologies and make recommendations for processes improvements. Become an expert in underlying systems. Build strong relationships with clients. Work closely with Director to drive product forward. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Strong communications skills both written and verbal. Strong customer service skills. Excellent prioritization and organization skills. Ability to assess a task, sometimes without perfect or complete information. Ability to keep self and team engaged in their work, on task and meeting deadlines. Possesses general business acumen. Technical Requirements Intermediate proficiency in writing SQL queries. Intermediate proficiency in writing HTML. Familiar with JSON. Familiar with REST. Linux (a plus). Experience A desirable candidate will have at least five years of hands-on experience as a manager of a software product. Candidate must understand the SDLC. Candidate will have experience in QA testing as well as have worked with a support ticketing system. Education The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related Engineering or Information Sciences program from an accredited university. If not, the candidate must demonstrate commensurate experience in collaborative technical environments.
