As a Diesel/Gasoline Mechanic , you will maintain our state-of-the-art diesel equipment by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements, correcting vehicle deficiencies, making adjustments/alignments and keeping records. Responsible for performing appropriate inspections, mechanical service, repairs and preventive maintenance of the company fleet of heavy duty refuse trucks. Demonstrates a high level of competence in the area of fleet maintenance. Diagnoses malfunctions, performs repairs and maintenance on diesel and gasoline engine trucks, including front-end loaders, and rear-end packers. Correctly make repairs to body components, drive trains, power steering units, cooling systems, hydraulic systems, brake systems, electrical systems, suspension systems, wheels, and tires. Demonstrates the willingness to perform all work projects and other job related duties as assigned by the shop manager. Requires very little supervision. Maintains a highly professional and caring attitude. Performs road calls and on-the-road repairs as assigned. Records time spent, parts used and repairs and/or maintenance conducted on appropriate forms. Maintains a safe, clean, productive and efficient work are including ensuring work area is in compliance with all relevant guidelines and requirements. Job Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older 2 years of diesel truck maintenance experience - OR - certification from a diesel mechanic trade school preferred (ASE certifications a plus!) Must have a valid CDL or ability and willingness to obtain a CDL Own a good set of basic working hand tools Willing to work flexible off shifts and over time Able to meet physical requirements of position (lifting up to 100lbs, bending, climbing, standing for duration of shift, etc.) Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug test and MVR check Please apply online below.
