MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center is actively recruiting for a fulltime, experienced Exercise Physiologist to join the Cardiac Rehabilitation Team! This position will provide support Monday Fridays, 8:00am 4:30pm and some weekends. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Schedule, set-up patients and monitor stress tests. Create office chart for patient. Explain testing procedures to patients to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety. Prepare and position patients for testing. Check hospital computer system for troponin values and any other recent lab results. Monitor patients comfort and safety during tests, document data appropriately and alert the physician to any changes. Adjust equipment and controls according to physicians orders or established protocol. Terminate exercise when appropriate. Assist with emergency care. Check that emergency supplies are adequate and that equipment is functioning properly. Report equipment repair needs to the biomedical department. Adhere to all departmental and hospital policy and procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree accepted, Masters Degree preferred.
