General Summary of Position: The incumbent in this position is a supervisor who participates in and facilitates the management of the operational, personnel and financial activities of the department. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Georgetown University Hospitals philosophy, procedures and standards. Qualifications: Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited school of speech language pathology. Current DC license or qualified candidate for DC license as a Speech Language Pathologist. Upon hire, must have a DC License or be eligible for a reciprocity license, or have made application to sit for the board examination. Minimum two years supervisory experience or comparable responsibility as a skilled practitioner. Minimum three years experience in a physical disabilities setting either in an acute or rehabilitation facility, with five years clinical experience preferred. Current knowledge and skills in speech language pathology, including ability to work with multi-disciplinary personnel, effective communication skills, flexibility, and ability to cope and problem solve.
