Cyber Defense Analyst, Senior

Key Role:
Provide Cybersecurity systems engineering (SE), integration, and testing support to DoD network elements using security assessment tools and manual reviews. Manage Information Systems Security personnel and provide oversight to security program projects. Assess configuration changes for security impacts and assist with the development of alternate courses of action or implementation of resultant measures. Perform system administration functions, including documenting the security architecture and analyze the development of user security guidelines and SOPs. Perform functions in support of the Defense Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation program (DITSCAP), as required. Work with the equipment vendor to identify solutions or seek other methods to mitigate the problem when weaknesses are discovered. Evaluate security impact and recommend responses to Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) inquiries, provide Certification and Accreditation (C&A) engineering support and review Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) reports.

Basic Qualifications:
-5+ years of experience with DoD Cybersecurity engineering or testing
-Experience with using the most current DoD-approved vulnerability scanners to assist with security audits to identify vulnerabilities through open ports, insecure configuration, and knowledge
-Experience with Security Categorization and Control Selection for National Security Systems (CNSSI 1253) Commercial National Security Algorithm (CNSA) Suite, Quantum Computing, and CNSS Advisory Memorandum 02-15, as required
-Knowledge of anti-virus software, backups, microkernels, the principle of least privilege, defense in depth, audit logs, security patches, social engineering, and secure disclosure of vulnerabilities in accordance with the most current DoD-approved Security Classification Guides (SCGs)
-TS/SCI clearance 
-BS degree

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience in working with the DoD
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
-BS degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred; MA or MS degree a plus
