Barbacks and Cocktail Servers
FIG & OLIVE is about passion for the best olive oils, flavors and cuisine from the Riviera & Coastal regions of the South of France, Italy and Spain. Our large variety of extra virgin olive oils was selected to be paired with each dish and to be offered for tasting at the beginning of each meal. With fresh, seasonal ingredients and simple preparation, our cuisine exudes the genuine taste of food, from a ripe heirloom tomato, a leaf of aromatic basil, to a fresh grilled fish finished with lemon, rosemary, thyme and olive oil-simplicity, healthiness and refined flavors at their best. Barback Purpose The purpose of a Barback is to be the Bartender s assistant. Barbacks work behind the bar next to the Bartenders & are expected to prepare the bar area for all AM & PM shifts, close the bar area per standards, & keep the bar clean & well-stocked throughout all shifts of the day. RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES Ensure bar area is clean & presentable Ensure all bar tools are working properly Keep supplies, snacks, napkins, etc. stocked throughout shift Bus tables in bar area as necessary, collect empty glasses, wash glassware Follow management s closing procedures nightly Keep bar, bar area and supplies clean Make changes for bartender as needed Sweeping and mop floor Wash floor mats Restock bar frequently with beer, liquor, wine, glassware, juices, etc. Restock ice well frequently Facilitate trash removal for bar area; trash removed from building and placed in dumpster prior to departing Assist Bartender with any additional requests Qualifications A minimum of 2-3 years of restaurant and/or nightlife bartending experience in high-volume fine dining Excellent verbal & telephone skills to be able to communicate clearly & effectively with guests Excellent oral communication & interpersonal skills required Must be a team player & possess the ability to handle situations as they arise (ie irate guests) Ability to stand for long periods of time Ability to occasionally lift 25 lbs or more Must have Open Availability (AM & PM) & be able to work on weekdays, weekends, & holidays Food Handlers Card / ServSafe Certification Cocktail Server Purpose The primary responsibility of a Cocktail Server is to provide exceptional service to all guests & to work with bar staff to ensure smooth operation of FIG & OLIVE s lounge & nightlife vibe for our company. Customer service paired with menu knowledge is the primary responsibility of Cocktail Server. Cocktail Servers will greet guests, provide information to them and sometimes make order suggestions. RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES Welcome, greet, and take beverage and food orders from guests Enter orders and ensure orders are relayed to the kitchen and bar Serve food and alcoholic beverages to guests seated at the bar where appropriate Set tables and answer questions regarding menu selections Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus and promotions Monitor and observe the dining experience of guests Remove dishes and glasses from tables Stock service areas as instructed Ensure clean tables and counters Thank customers for their visit and invite again Accept payment and deliver to the cash counter Deliver receipt and change to the customer Request IDs when necessary Qualifications A minimum of 2-3 years experience in upscale high volume restaurant Team player with a positive attitude and problem solving skills Adhere to FIG & OLIVE s professional grooming standards Extensive customer service and resolution skills Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills Ability to stand long periods of time Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends and holidays Food Handlers Card / ServSafe Certification Please drop off resumes between 2-4PM.
