The Denizens Brewing Co Kitchen Manager oversees kitchen operations and is a liaison between the front of house and kitchen team, setting the back of house team up for success each day. The Kitchen Manager is also accountable for all aspects of food service operations, including staffing, training, inventory management, and quality control. The Kitchen Manager reports directly to the General Manager and collaborates with the entire Denizens leadership team on the food menu and special events. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Manage kitchen staff, including scheduling and training. - Personally ensure high quality standards in preparation and service of food. Maintain compliance with all health and food service code requirements. - Manage kitchen service during busiest service periods (weekends and other peak service days mid-week) and thoroughly train a subordinate to manage during days off. - Administer kitchen paperwork, such as updating order guide according to weekly pricing sent out by purveyors, conducting inventory, and logging invoices in the purchase log. - Coordinate private catered and non-catered events with the General Manager, and also communicate with the kitchen team concerning all the events taking place each day. - Coordinate with the General Manager on any issues with the menu or service on a daily basis and during service. - Report to the General Manager on a weekly basis on food revenue, costs, staffing, and any other opportunities or risks. - Purchase and meticulously manage food inventory, including identifying and implementing process improvements to reduce waste and maximize profit margins. - Contribute to menu development including daily service menu, specials, upcoming beer dinners and catered events. - Maintain all kitchen equipment, scheduling regular maintenance and identifying and resolving any kitchen repairs that are needed. - Other duties according to any future agreement. QUALIFICATIONS: - A passion for craft beer, food, and hospitality, and dedication to education of self and others on the food and craft beer market and industry. - At least three years of experience managing food service and working with teams. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Experience with POS systems and management of inventory and financial reports. - Ability to act quickly and decisively in fast-paced work environments. - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google tools. - Friendly, team-oriented, adaptable, and self-starter personality.
