We have an immediate opening for a motivated Fitness Programmer at the Claude Moore Recreation and Community Center located in Sterling, VA. The Claude Moore Recreation and Community Center is a state of the art facility with two indoor pools, a gym, fitness studio, fitness room with modern cardio and strengthening equipment, climbing wall and indoor track. This position will plan and implement fitness programs, such as Group Training and Personal Training, activities, group exercise classes and special events. As a Fitness Programmer you will develop a variety of programs to serve all segments of a diverse population while you exercise your creativity to develop marketing materials to promote programs. Utilizing your supervisory and organizational skills you will recruit and interview class instructors, schedule facilities, and coordinate equipment and supplies to assure program quality and that revenue projections are met. With a customer service focus you will implement survey instruments to identify trends to assure programs meet citizen expectations and needs, handle customer service concerns, oversee and perform general supervision of facility drop-in users, renters and participants and identify potential hazards and enforce safety regulations that affect public health and safety. You will also assist with facility maintenance tasks, including room set up and break down, as well as maintenance of equipment and repair. Must be willing to work a very flexible work schedule; to include early mornings, days, evenings and weekends to meet center needs. JOB REQUIREMENTS Any combination of education and experience equivalent to bachelor's degree in recreation, physical education or related field. Six months supervising Staff and Facilities in a Fitness setting. Prior supervisory experience is strongly preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must have certification in CPR, First Aid for adult, infant and child. Prefer certification in a nationally recognized Fitness Organization ie ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA etc POST CONDITIONAL OFFER CONTINGENCIES Criminal background, Child Protective Services (CPS), credit checks and DMV record check required.
