The Clinical Data Analyst for Surgical Services will develop and prepare reporting in support of surgical Services and various other patient care units as assigned. This includes the ability to analyze quantitative and quality data and identify trends around quality conditions; collaborates with different teams to design, develop, generate, and validate self-service reports, extracts, and visualizations. The data analyst also performs charge reconciliation to ensure completeness and accuracy.

Must Have Skills:

Extensive expertise with Excel (Performing VLOOKUPs, Working with Pivot Tables etc.)

Includes ability to design reports, import and export data, link multiple worksheets and/or files using key fields and to manipulate data to create key fields where none exist.

Excellent Communication Skills (Presenting results to the team and senior leadership) regarding analysis concepts and findings in both technical and non-technical skills.

Proven ability to query databases (Cerner/SurgiNet preferred)

Education & Experience:

Bachelors degree in a relevant field required (i.e. healthcare, financing, mathematics, business or computer science).

Minimum of 2 years of experience compiling and analyzing healthcare data or working in the IT or EHR department of a healthcare institution (or similar).


Demonstrates quantitative analytical or statistical skills.

Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and identifies trends and variances in data and communicates to all key stakeholders.

Performs daily charge reconciliation to ensure completeness and accuracy of surgical charges with follow through to all key stakeholders

Create and produce timely, accurate reports for various departments and disseminates as scheduled. Conduct data cleaning and validation activities to ensure accuracy of information.

Excellent organizational skills and extensive expertise with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel,

PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).

Excellent written and verbal communication. Fluent in English (verbal, writing, and reading).

Demonstrates ability to manage projects independently, prioritizing needs, and effectively multi-task competing priorities, strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Ability to interact with different levels of management in a matrix managed team environment.

Ability to influence, negotiate and communicate with key stakeholders.

Ability to successfully manage multiple issues simultaneously.

Prototype and build dashboards integrating data from multiple sources

Work Schedule

In this role, you will be working full time Monday-Friday. This is a day shift position.
