The OpportunityReporting directly to the Chief Human Resource Officer, the Head of Total Rewards will drive the strategy, planning, administration, and implementation of all compensation and benefits programs and policies. This person will create the compensation framework and be the primary catalyst in the establishment of corporate short and long-term objectives regarding employee compensation and benefits programs including developing and monitoring benefit plans which provide value to employees and are cost effective for the organization He/she will lead the creation and maintenance of organization wide job descriptions and pay levels that drive the attraction and retention of highly skilled talent that is also market competitive This individual will conduct robust ongoing evaluation of external markets and internal equity to determine geographic pay zone and salary level appropriateness by position. This person will be the owner of year-end performance appraisal and budget review processes. He/she will review all annual and ongoing wage and salary recommendations and be a strategic partner to the incentive program development team providing insight and governance. He/she will create all executive compensation plans, partnering with Finance and Accounting as well as oversee management of a 90MM budget for employee benefits and disability. The role will also oversee all legacy Pension plans.Key ResponsibilitiesDesigns and develops a full compensation and benefit framework to align with performance management.Develops compensation and benefit programs with a focus on being an employer of choice and creating a culture of pay for performance.Ensures the strategic alignment of compensation and benefit philosophy and objectives are aligned with OneMain s mission, vision and values.Recommends changes to ensure alignment of the organization s compensation and benefit objectives and competitive position in the marketplace.Monitors and evaluates existing benefit programs, including self-insured and fully-insured insurance programs, 401(k) plan, leave and time off policies, ensuring that all programs are current, and competitive with respect to the trends, best practices and costs.Collaborates with the 401(k) administrator to ensure that the plan is compliant with all laws and regulations and that yearly audits, testing and reporting is done accurately and on time.Acts as the primary liaison with insurance carriers, vendors, brokers, and consultants on various matters such as health and welfare plan design, contracts, plan coverage and plan renewals.Designs communication programs to increase perceived value of programs and ensure appropriate understanding by employees.Stays current on laws, regulations, and program design trends, ensuring that the organization s policies and programs are compliant.Leverages technology to streamline compensation and benefits practices as needed.Partners closely with the CHRO and CEO in preparing and presenting executive compensation strategy and plan design to the Board of Directors and compensation committee for review and approvalThe CandidateQualifications15 years minimum prior relevant experience in developing, managing and leading compensation and benefit programsRequires exceptional business knowledge, general management, and leadership capability to lead functional teams within HR and throughout the organization.Requires technical and operational capability to define and/or oversee program design in broad area of responsibility.Applies extensive business and industry expertise and provides organizational thought leadershipBachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or relevant fieldMaster s degree in Business preferredKey PartnershipsCEO, COO and CFOHR leadership teamAccounting and Finance teamsExternal health and welfare and compensation advisory teamSkillsStrong business acumenKnowledge of the best practices within the compensation and benefit community and the ability to adapt and evolve these practices to the business needsExperience in consulting and working with executive management in the design, development, and execution of compensation and benefit strategies and initiativesThorough knowledge of compensation and benefit programs including executive compensationThorough knowledge of regulatory and legal issues related to compensation and benefitsExcellent knowledge of all financial aspects of compensation programsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to manage, inspire, and embrace changeAbility to take initiative and make decisions under pressureStrong strategic thinking and analytical skills
