The MIL Corporation seeks a Senior Document Management Editor and Communications Director to remotely support a Federal Government client. The Senior Document Management Editor and Communications Director will serve as a senior management editor and communications director for comprehensive, complex, and sensitive publications of national and Congressional interest.

• Oversee editorial operations, write, re-right, and edit content in support of the NGA N2W project and/or other projects as appropriate
• Create, assimilate and convey technical material in a concise and effective manner
• Simplify complex concepts or processes to maximize reader comprehension
• Apply knowledge of Government operations including areas related to information technology, policy, strategy, security, contracting, and programs related to military operations, cyber security, and systems engineering
• Set the tone, editorial direction and policies for the publication of each product
• Apply excellent editorial judgement gained in a senior editorial role, while demonstrating balanced and objective judgement based on a thorough understanding of the audience's needs, editorial and other guidelines, and departmental objectives
• Lead the generation of online content that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action
• Manage social media efforts

Required Qualifications
• Master's degree in the field of Management or Communications
• 10 years of experience working in Federal Government, Department of Defense (DoD) components or the defense industrial complex on document management/editing
• Excellent writing/editing, organizational and verbal communications skills
• Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing Government documents
• Possess a track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently
• Relationship builder with a flexibility and finesse to manage by influence
• High energy, maturity and leadership skills with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to position communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels
• Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with engineers, developers, contracting officials, and senior leadership
• Self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurially
• Ability with cross-organizational planning, maintaining schedules and enforcing deadlines
• Ability to multitask and manage large volumes of information, with thorough, accurate and great attention to detail
• Ability to remain confident and assured to sustain performance under pressure where there are highly complex and contentious issues
• Detailed knowledge of the structure of editorial policies and guidelines as they relate to this role
• Ability to interface professionally with individuals at all levels and communicate effectively with project staff and other team members
• Proficiency with Microsoft office suite and SharePoint

• DAWIA level III Program Manager
