As the VP of Product Marketing, you will lead the team in charge of messaging and positioning for Sterling's industry-leading pre-employment global background screening solutions, and the development and execution of go-to-market strategies in a rapidly changing, highly competitive, transactional business. You'll define the company's next chapter of customer engagement. This high-profile role is a blend of strategic and "roll-up-your-sleeves," results-focused product marketing that will work collaboratively with product managers, sales, account management, vertical marketing and digital demand generation teams. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into compelling, differentiated benefits for prospects, customers, and sales is essential. The position requires significant initiative and drive along with superior marketing, strategic thinking, communications, writing and analytical capabilities. The successful candidate is a proven leader who has the ability to influence and motivate others, can make their voice heard at executive levels and can bring new ideas to the table in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment., * Positioning and messaging, for the company and product lines including development of use cases, buyer/user personae, customer lifecycle messaging, differentiated value propositions, field communications and development of sales enablement materials. * Work with the product team to identify appropriate packaging and campaign strategies that will optimize both revenue and customer buying behavior. * Product Launches and Releases - Work closely with product management, engineering, and demand marketing to develop and execute launch plans for product enhancements and new products, focused on sales and account management enablement. * Competitive & Market intelligence - Be an expert on our buyers, how they buy, and their buying criteria; create personas and understand audience segmentation; be an expert on our competition and develop plans on how to beat them. * Demand Generation - Work closely with the Vertical Marketing and Digital demand generation teams to develop the ideal digital/web content strategy and positioning for multi-channel outbound and inbound programs. Ensure product narratives are brought to life through integrated content marketing, SEO and digital customer acquisition campaigns build drive pipeline and support revenue goals. * Thought leadership & Customer Advocacy- Be an external (and internal) thought leader about the market, product line value and customer success stories, managing the customer testimonial and referral assets and thought leadership content strategy. * 10+ combined product marketing experience delivering highly successful buyer/user acquisition and engagement strategies, ideally focused on B2B, SaaS and/or PaaS. 5+ years of team leadership experience. * Top-notch market researcher: You get to know your market, customers and competition better than anyone, and you integrate this information into your growth strategies, SEO keywords and sales enablement initiatives. * Master storyteller and communicator: You can craft a compelling story across different channels for different audience segments - and you know how to match the message to the medium both internally and externally. * Tenacious project manager: You drive action as a great collaborator and master simplifier. You never stop pushing towards clarity, quality in delivery and exceptional results. You prioritize high impact activities with conviction and keep complex projects moving forward with cross-functional teams. * You're crazy-good at articulating the essence of products and the value they create for customers. You can develop a strong messaging hierarchy and effective content strategy.
