For the GS-09, you must possess at least one of the following:
A. Have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: monitoring security procedures and creating reports; performing law enforcement duties for the protection of government employees and property; and evaluating the effectiveness of existing security practices and procedures and drafting recommendations; OR B. Have a master's or equivalent graduate degree; or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related; OR C. Have some specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and have more than one year but less than two years of education as described in B. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify).
Selective Placement Factor: Certificate of Completion from a civilian or military policy academy and at least one-year experience as a certified law enforcement officer. Applicants who do not meet this requirement will not be considered for this position.
Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements.
