Who are we looking for? Maybe it's you. The role The Sr. Director Human Resources is responsible for leading the HR Business Partner team for the Choice corporate office. This leader will drive the HR Business Partner strategy, develop and implement organization-wide policies and programs encompassing various aspects of human resource management including workforce planning, employee relations, training, international human resources, and new hire onboarding activities. Works directly with company leadership in developing workforce strategies to ensure that financial and strategic goals are attained. Coaches and councils leadership on human resources strategies and best practices. As a member of the Talent Management Leadership Team, remains focused on the overall HR and Talent Management Strategy and how to influence results in the business. Effectively manages departmental budget. The team Direct Reports include: Sr. Human Resource Business Partners & Human Resources Specialist What you will do Leadership Manage and develop human resources staff to set and achieve department goals while leveraging department resources. Lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team of human resource professionals. Anticipates and plans for long-term human resource needs and trends in partnership with business management. Creates strategic vision for the human resources business partner team to include organizational planning, identifying and executing on Key Performance Indicators, and business client priorities. Identifies and tracks key departmental analytics to measure and understand impact and outcomes. Ensures continuous learning within the function and stays up to date on best practices and employment law changes. Lead by example in demonstrating and driving Choice's Cultural Values within the team and across the enterprise. Manage special HR projects to achieve desired outcomes and participate on project teams as assigned. Human Resource Business Partner Leadership Partner with business leaders on initiatives that engage associates and promote retention of key talent. Foster constructive associate relationships across the organization - understand associate needs and facilitate effective communication channels between leaders and associates. Responsible for leading and administering new hire onboarding, various aspects of associate recognition programs, and events/programs designed to increase employee engagement. Consult with and advise business managers on performance management related processes and opportunities, employee relations, and risk assessment/audit management. Serve as an HR Business Partner to the Extended Leadership Team. Communicates vision and direction that motivates and energizes the team. Counsel frequently utilizes critical skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization. Drive the development and implementation of effective policies and programs to ensure compliance with federal & local employment law; ensure accurate record keeping and that employee data and records are accurately maintained. Human Resources Partnerships Talent Management: Frequently partners with the Sr. Director Human Resources in Phoenix and HRBP's to drive human capital results across the organization. Talent Development: Liaises with Learning and Development, Organizational Development and Inclusion & Diversity to ensure associate/leader development and engagement at all levels, along with succession, talent review, talent movement, and effective on-boarding processes Total Rewards: Partner and maintain strong alignment in effectively leveraging and implementing total reward programs and processes including merit review; equity planning; bonus planning; promotions; special adjustments, benefits, wellness, payroll and talent technology efforts. Talent Acquisition: Champion the company's values and culture; partner in supporting and driving the company's ability to attract, engage, and retain high caliber talent. Skills you have Ten years Human Resources management experience; with a minimum seven years managing people Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field. Master's degree a plus. Proven strategic human resource business partner and demonstrated experience in running an HR organization Broad understanding of the technical and functional components of human resources, including: talent acquisition, talent management, organizational design/development, succession planning, leadership development, compensation, compliance, planning, employee communications, training and development and employee relations Knowledge of employment law and practices with demonstrated success in handling sensitive legal issues Results oriented with the ability to balance multiple business considerations and priorities Ability to establish credibility, effectively collaborate, influence others, build relationships, and work effectively with associates at all levels Proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate employees in order to balance staffing strength and develop future leaders Entrepreneurial spirit, with a hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves mentality Executive presence and interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills Proven budget management experience - financial awareness and cost control Proven problem-solving, negotiating, decision-making and conflict resolution skills Ability to prepare and communicate clear and compelling messages to senior leadership Technical proficiency in HR processes Strong command of Microsoft Office products: PowerPoint; Excel, Word Desired Must be able to uphold Choice's Cultural Values of collaboration, performance excellence, sense of urgency, openness to innovative ideas, inclusion & diversity, integrity & trust, customer focus, and respect Other requirements Travel required; approximately twice per quarter but varies by business needs.
