Job Description: Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for Cornell 1. BSN and 18 months experience is REQUIRED.

Hours/Shift: Full Time - Day Shift

Department/Position Overview:
The Telemetry/Stroke Unit at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital (Cornell 1) provides care for patients with cardiac conditions including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly-implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post- coronary interventions, post-ablation, myocardial infarctions. Cornell 1 also cares for TIA, acute stroke and post procedural neuro cases that stepdown from ICU.

New Hire Education Requirement: All Registered Nurses who do not have their BSN will be required to sign a BSN Agreement committing to successfully obtain their BSN within 5 years of hire.

Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.

RN-Doctorate Level Degree OR
RN-Master's Level Degree

Required: Nursing - Previous experience

Required: Registered Nurse

Preferred: Basic Life Support

18 months nursing experience required. BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required. Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty. BLS required within 90 days of hire. Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.
