GIS SPATIAL ANALYST II
Seeking a highly motivated individual to work as part of the Fire and Rescue Department GIS team. As a member of the team, this GIS Analyst has a range of responsibilities involving creating and maintaining GIS data and performing analysis related to supporting fire and EMS operations. Performs complex spatial analysis and creates web applications and map products for internal and external clients. Creates, maintains, and conducts quality control of critical public safety-related data sets using GIS software such as the Esri ArcGIS suite of products and extensions. Collaborates with other County agencies and outside entities in support of the department's mission.Employment Standards MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to a bachelor's degree in computer science, geography or related field; plus one year of experience working with and developing systems utilizing GIS platforms such as ESRI's ArcGIS Desktop or Server software suites; or performing GIS modeling (e.g., feature classes) and spatial analysis (e.g., such as proximity analysis, image analysis, routing analysis).
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.
Ideal candidate will have a strong background in public safety GIS. Four or more years of GIS project experience, including two years with a multi-user geographic information system and performing modeling and advanced level spatial analysis (e.g., map algebra, network analysis, etc.). Experience with GIS, planning, emergency management, or public safety organizations, in particular fire and EMS operations. Experience with ArcGIS and its extensions (e.g., Network Analyst, Spatial Analyst, Geostatistical Analyst). Experience with ArcGIS Online, Server, and Portal. Database experience (e.g., Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server, building SQL queries). Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well with others in a team environment as well as to work independently with little supervision.
Typical for office work, light lifting, ability to sit for varying periods at a computer. Ability to operate keyboard-driven equipment. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
