Position Summary: The Talent, Learning, Culture (TLC) team drives and sustains the impact of LEE as an employer of choice through acquiring, engaging, and developing high quality, high potential, diverse talent and works with leadership and staff to develop an inclusive, strong culture. This team is responsible for: diverse talent recruitment, selection, and onboarding; management of employment policy and ensuring equitable practices; management of payroll, compensation, and benefits provision; staff performance management and professional development, and; building an organization-wide inclusive culture based on our core values and mission. The Vice President, Talent will lead the following: Strategy and Management Directs and executes the overall Talent strategy of the organization, ensuring that sound principles of employment and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are met Manages a team of 10-12 with 3-5 direct reports to take action within and across teams to achieve organizational goals Designs and directs talent analytics and evaluation to communicate effectively on progress to goals internally (to our Leadership Team and to our staff) as well as to external parties (LEE's board and funders) Manages and improves LEE's Human Resource Information Systems - ensuring operational excellence in prioritized areas. Talent Participates and leads annual and strategic planning processes to ensure that issues of headcount, staffing, talent management, and succession planning are included in the overall organizational talent strategy Oversees talent brand, title structure and classification, talent acquisition, compensation, onboarding, performance management, career development and promotion, rewards, and employee relations functions Oversees the overall HR and Operations provisions inclusive of Payroll, Benefits, Employment Policy and Procedure, 401k Administration, and Facilities - with a focus on developing and maintaining equitable practices Learning and Development Directs and implements LEE's staff L&D strategy; Designs staff learning and development strategy aligned with LEE's goals inclusive of LEE's diversity, equity, inclusion principles. This includes but is not limited to overseeing LEE's new hire orientation, Diversity, Equity Inclusion trainings, management trainings and communities of practices, professional development funds. Ensures that learning and development strategy is tied to staff professional development and succession planning Culture Responsible for leading the development and implementation LEE's culture strategy - in partnership with the leadership team and staff - to support and maintain an inclusive and engaged LEE culture Manages Employee Resource Groups in support of LEE's culture and goals Responsible for internal communication strategy and implementation in service LEE's mission and talent strategy Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with knowledge of Human Resource and Organizational Development and/or Diversity, Equity and Inclusion practices 10+ years of relevant work experience; 4 years of team management experience Strong personal passion for the education sector and alignment in the mission of LEE Demonstrates strategic thinking about business initiatives with an entrepreneurial spirit Demonstrated experience tackling tough issues, working across lines of difference, creating inclusive environment to develop equitable practices Proven ability to engage others in a compelling, persuasive manner and build relationships around shared interest and beliefs Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as interpersonal skills, with an appreciation for confidentiality. Ability to motivate and positively engage staff and management in ways that build trust and enthusiasm Previous track record of managing multiple large-scale projects and managing change effectively in context of ambiguity and shifting priorities General knowledge of the principles and practices of human resource administration; knowledge of sound techniques in all aspects of human resource management. Strong knowledge and understanding of insurance regulations, plan designs and third party record keeping/administration required. Familiarity with COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, and related state and federal regulations Preferred Qualifications HRCI Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designation SHRM Certified Professional (PHR/SHRM-CP) designation Background in employment law and other government compliance regulations, with special emphasis on Equal Employment Opportunities and Affirmative Action laws and requirements for various subgroups Strong previous background as a facilitator and/or conflict resolution specialist Knowledge of contracting, negotiation Experience designing and maintaining an HRIS/HCMS (specifically ADP Workforce Now and Cornerstone) Previous exceptional experience analyzing, qualitative and quantitative data and applying deep statistical and research skills Contact: Leadership for Educational Equity has engaged Koya Leadership Partners to help in this hire.
