Description/Job Summary Reporting the VP Creative and Marketing, the Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for establishing & implementing strategic and tactical marketing and communications plans designed to capitalize on market opportunities and generate demand. Our Director of Marketing and Communications will develop and manage budgets, ensure adherence to our corporate identity and brand, and oversee marketing efforts, media relations, sales proposals/presentations, digital media, and related internal communications. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, resourceful, and have impeccable communication & leadership skills. The position requires a seasoned professional able to engage successfully with a large variety of internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to, senior executives, sales teams, suppliers, media and industry professionals. Responsibilities and Duties In conjunction with the VP of Creative and Marketing, develop a comprehensive and aligned strategic marketing plan. Manage marketing budget for all staffing, resources, and capital purchases. Evaluate, implement and, manage new media technologies such as blogs, RSS, video, webcasts etc. Develops and oversees media relations plans and campaigns and communications/releases as well as proactively seeks out editorial and other media coverage. Manage the creation of all marketing collateral and sales support tools. Be accountable for measuring and reporting on campaign results. Perform market segmentation, targeting & positioning for each line of business. Execute integrated online/offline, search engine marketing, advertising, public relations, tradeshows and other campaigns to generate demand & sales leads. Conduct research & evaluation of vendor solutions and manage relationships. Work directly with Sales to support their efforts. Manage & motivate team of 3 marketing professionals. Identify areas for process improvement, ie proposals and presentations. Maintain knowledge of marketing trends, developments, and best practices. Establishes and maintains professional relationships amongst all levels of the organization while creating a collaborative environment, most particularly amongst the sales and creative departments. Participates as a member of the directors' leadership team and in the strategic planning process for the company. Oversees Hargrove branding initiatives to ensure consistency of the corporate brand identity both internally and externally. Oversees market research and competitive analysis to ensure company is effectively positioned in the marketplace across all lines of business. Oversees the development of corporate marketing collateral including brochures, corporate packaging, direct mail and more. Works closely with internal departments to produce the internal collateral and materials needed to perform their functions. These departments may include exhibitor services, finance, human resources, IT and more. Works with Sales and Creative teams to identify recognition or award programs for participation; oversees and develops the entries or submissions. Oversees corporate website development and upkeep. Manages social media strategy and creates social media campaigns, blogs, web-casts, etc. that support marketing plans and strategies. Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business or related field required. 6-10 years of experience in Marketing and/or Communications. Both B2B and B2C is highly valued. 5 years minimum experience in managing a staff of three or more. Extensive experience in all aspects of Marketing and Communications including brand and digital marketing for various audiences. Exceptional written skills. Writing samples will be requested at time of interview. Experience in events, trade shows or production industries a plus. Ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment. Excellent communication skills. Capable of working with varying personalities. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of CRM software such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
