Job Description: Sentara Healthcare is currently recruiting for an experienced EMT to work as a Team Leader in support of our Medical Transport operations in Woodbridge, VA and the surrounding area. This is a full-time (40hrs/wk) Rotating Shift (Days, Evenings & Nights) position.

Medical Transport is a modern multifaceted organization with departments operating in support of our emergency and non-emergency transport capabilities. These departments include a Vehicle Maintenance Department, Operations Support Department, Quality Assurance Team, Communication Center and an experienced management team.

Medical Transport has assembled a communication team, working in a modern computerized Dispatch Center, which allows the most efficient response to our customers' needs and schedules, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The computer-aided dispatch system enables the ambulance crews to arrive prepared, equipped, and on time. Our services are accessible to individuals and facilities located throughout Virginia and the surrounding states.

Responsible for the units on his/her assigned shift and coordination of services. Demonstrates proficiency in emergency medical practice and provides leadership for the delivery of basic and/or advance life support care in the transport and emergent environment. Leads safety and quality initiatives, simplifies workflow, improves efficiency and participates in the development of staff.

Education Level
High School Grad or Equivalent

Required: Clinical - 3 years

Preferred: EMS - 2 years

Required: Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, Drivers License, EMT-Advanced, EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate, EMT-Paramedic, Pediatric Advanced Life Suppor

Preferred: None, unless noted in the “Other” section below

Required: Active Learning, Active Listening, Communication, Coordination, Critical Thinking, Leadership, Service Orientation, Technology/Computer

Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) within in 30days of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support required for EMT - Intermediate and EMT- Paramedic staff upon hire. EMT - Paramedic also requires Pediatric Advanced Life Support upon hire. Must be qualified to operate Medical Transport emergency vehicles in both emergency and non-emergency situations. EMT -Basic, EMT Enhanced, EMT -Intermediate, EMT-Advanced or EMT Paramedic are all acceptable discipline specific certifications for the position
