  • For the GS 12: You must have at least one year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal Service that included performing duties such as: interpreting laws and regulations as applied to specific instances in claims adjudication; adjudicating cases of unusual technical difficulty such as cases involving coordination with other agency programs such as workers compensation or Social Security benefits, disability determinations, and changes in payment amounts; expediting resolution of special, unique case problems or actions; recommending and help developing ADP changes such as corrections, enhancements and working directly with programmers to implement enhancements to the automated systems; and/or experience developing formal lessons plans for training programs and delivering briefings, workshops, and formal training.


    Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F.One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level.

    You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

    Relocation expenses will not be paid.

    The full performance level of this position is GS-12.
