We are looking to hire a Recertification Specialist in Baltimore MD! The Recertification Specialist will be responsible for the preparation of initial and annual recertification for all residents ensuring full compliance with HUD and LIHTC regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Maintain property waiting list * Coordinate on-site data collections and processing of resident information * Schedule resident recertification interviews * Insure proper calculation of income, assets, rent levels, etc. * Coordinate apartment inspections for recertifications * Maintain resident files in accordance with company policy & regulatory agency policy * Assist office staff on other tasks, including collection of rent and social activities * Assist with the several administrative and leasing tasks * Perform other duties that may arise Qualifications: * Candidate must be able to be a creative thinker, work in a fast paced environment, have good attention to detail, and be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, One-Site Property Management Software and Internet. * The successful candidate should have 2+ years property management experience * Knowledge of Affordable Housing (LIHTC, Section 8, Section 236), Annual Re-certifications, LIHTC Compliance Regulations, and Leasing. * Strong customer service skills. * Previous knowledge of Onesite property management software is also preferred Position Responsibilities: * Review household certifications for all Affordable properties to ensure they're compliant * Assist Community manager with preparing for property reviews, investigate and resolve issues regarding unreported income * Training personnel on preparing income certifications and recertification for both Tax Credit and Federally Assisted properties * Review and approval of all move-in certifications, as well as quarterly review of annual recertification for Tax Credit properties * Monitor and report past due recertification * Address compliance training and support needs for site staff * Assist in generating all year-end building status reports for tax credit properties and ensure all electronic reporting is completed each year * Assist in monitoring correct usage of income and rent limits as well as utility allowances Skills required: * Minimum 2 years-experience of recertification experience Tax Credit, Section 8 & Public Housing experience & LIHTC multifamily housing properties * Strong knowledge of LIHTC and HUD regulations * Strong knowledge of the IRS 8823 Guide as well as the HUD Manual 4350.3 * Formal training and/or certification in related field highly preferred (HCCP, SHCM, C3P, COS, CPO, BOS or equivalent) * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment * Ability to take charge and ownership of projects; self-starter and independent worker * Experience working in One-Site software program preferred
