Works under the general supervision of a team of Senior Accountants and Staff II Accountants.
Assists the team in maintaining the accounting records for their assigned entities, including preparing/posting journal entries, performing balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, cash and bank account reconciliations, compensation calculations, analyzing key expense areas and performing variance analysis.
Completes assigned duties in accordance with AHCs monthly closing schedule.
Communicates interdepartmentally with managers and staff regarding accounting issues.
Responds to customer inquiries with timely and insightful knowledge.
Assists the team with the preparation of the annual budget for assigned entities.
Provides support for the conduct of AHCs annual audit process.
Assists the team with special projects as necessary.
Demonstrates actions and attitudes that contribute to the achievement of AHCs critical success factors (e.g., best place to work, most extraordinary experience, superior outcomes, financial success for reinvestment, a growing organization vital to the community and valued as a faith-based organization).
Minimum: Associate degree in Accounting or Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and standards.
Understanding of financial and operational systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products.
Ability to work independently and handle a multi task environment.
Strong customer service, interpersonal skills, professional demeanor and communication skills.
Strong stewardship of confidential data.
