General Maintenance Worker II (Food Service Equipment Technician)
This is general maintenance work at the fully skilled level on commercial food service (kitchen) equipment.
An employee in this class is responsible for applying journeyman level skills to repair and maintain a variety of commercial kitchen appliances and food service equipment. Employees are assigned responsibility for completing maintenance work in the general categories of electrical, plumbing and kitchen equipment repair. Employees follow established trade practices and applicable codes and regulations in performing their work. Work is primarily performed inside school facilities.
* Maintains, repairs, or replaces, as necessary, food service (kitchen) related equipment
* Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all food service (kitchen) systems in school facilities
* May lead a team of maintenance workers
* Performs related work as required
Experience in performing general maintenance work at the journeyman level on commercial food service equipment and possess the following knowledge, abilities and skills:
* Knowledge of commercial food service (kitchen) equipment repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
* Knowledge in the operation of electrical control systems
* Knowledge of the hazards of general maintenance trade work and safety precautions required
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material
* Ability to operate a computer tablet and assigned software
* Skill in using the tools, equipment and materials of the food service equipment maintenance trade
* Must poses a valid driver's license

The Commercial Food Service Equipment Technician reports directly to their assigned Maintenance Supervisor.
