UMD UAS TEST SITE
THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN SOUTHERN MARYLAND. The Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park (http://www.aero.umd.edu) is seeking highly qualified candidates for a Project Engineer position supporting the UMD Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Test Site in Southern Maryland. This position is responsible for supporting all field operations including the airworthiness review and maintenance of all systems, data collection and storage, sensor and hardware/software integration and other support areas assigned in support of Test Site requirements. Additionally, the Project Engineer serves as a Visual Observer (VO) and Aviation Safety Officer (ASO) for UAS Operations.
Candidates with the requisite skills, demonstrate technical expertise, creativity and leadership are sought to serve as a Project Engineer for the UAS Test Site.
Under the direction of the Dept. of Aerospace Engineering, the UMD UAS Test Site leverages the capabilities of the people and infrastructure in Southern Maryland and the University of System of Maryland for technical and policy issues associated with UAS. The UAS Test Site offers a collaborative approach to applying advanced capabilities to meet the challenges facing the UAS industry.
