Acquisition Management Specialist
Opening is for a mid- to senior-level consultant on the staff of a not-for-profit, government management consulting organization headquartered in Tysons, Virginia. This position may support a variety of projects from short term studies to long-term, on-site client support. Top candidates will have a record of performance supporting teams on multiple, concurrent projects/engagements to and develop and deliver implementable solutions in fast-paced, deadline driven environments.Provides consulting support services in the areas of acquisition and procurement policy; strategic sourcing and category management; acquisition administration and oversight; process improvement; acquisition management support; and other related activities. Responsibilities * Ensuring high quality service delivery.* Managing and participating in multiple, concurrent client engagements.* Identifying, developing, and leading analytical teams, as required.* Conducting detailed research and analysis.* Authoring reports, studies, presentations and other artifacts for submission to clients.* Serving as a trusted advisor to government clients on policy, process, and oversight issues within the acquisition domain.* Developing and maintaining relationships with senior federal managers and functional specialists in client organizations. * Identifying and shaping support opportunities to capture new business. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree.* Advanced degree in business, finance, public administration, public policy or other relevant area preferred.* At least thirteen (13) years of experience supporting federal acquisitions as a consultant advising and assisting federal clients and/or as a federal official. * Expansive knowledge of planning, pre-award, award, post-award, and closeout phases of the acquisition lifecycle for one or more federal agencies.* Detailed knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures in the federal acquisition environment.* Detailed knowledge of the Federal Procurement Data System - Next Generation (FPDS-NG), System for Award Management (SAM), Federal Business Opportunities (FBO), the Acquisition Gateway, and related acquisition systems and databases* Demonstrated ability to distill complex data, reach conclusions supported by evidence, and present findings in a concise and compelling manner.* Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to draft and edit regulations, policies, technical presentations, research papers, management reports.* Strong interpersonal and representational skills with the ability to develop and maintain highly professional relationships with colleagues, team members, and clients.* Proficiency with a variety of software applications, including Word, Power Point, Excel, Visio and MS Project.* Knowledge of SharePoint or other business collaboration tools preferred.* Federal Acquisition Certification (FAC), Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA), and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.Security Clearance Statement:Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
