Human Resources Assistant II (Personnel Action Requests)

We are currently a Human Resources Assistant (Personnel Actions) to support the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). This position is full time and on-site at the government's location in Alexandria, Virginia. Position Responsibilities and Duties Process basic personnel action requests (PAR) using OPM and agency guides, policies and procedures. Work independently to process PAR transactions. Collaborate with supervisor and peers to determine the resolution to inquiries and escalating to the specialists when needed. Identify and flag re-occurring issues. Code and input personnel data into an automated Human Resource Information System (HRIS). Review personnel action requests for accuracy of agency codes and existence and adequacy of supporting documents. Provide assistance to HR specialists both verbally and in writing. Explain general HR processes to customers and assists them in completing standard documents/forms required to complete various HR actions. Check the accuracy of computer generated actions. Answer questions about the status of pending actions. This position requires one (1) to three (3) years of PARS processing experience. Knowledge of Federal HR personnel regulations, rules and policies Experience processing personnel transactions. Ability to apply information from standard operating procedures, government-wide and agency policies, procedures and guidance. Ability to interact with individuals at all levels to request and provide information. Must have strong attention to detail, as well as excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Experience working with one of the approved HR Line of Business Payroll Provider systems (ie National Finance Center, Interior Business Center, HR Connect, among others) is preferred. Minimum education requirement is a high school degree.
