The George Mason University, College of Visual and Performing Arts, Hylton Performing Arts Center seeks qualified candidates for the position of Ticket Office Staff. The Hylton Performing Arts Center is the region’s first state-of-the-art performing arts center. The partnership with Prince William County, the city of Manassas, and George Mason University has created a project that will educate, entertain and enrich the lives of our citizens. The center will provide performance space for local community arts groups, as well as national and international tours which will include everything from Beethoven to Bluegrass (and everything in between). Located on the Prince William campus of George Mason University in Manassas, Va., the center has two performance spaces--the 1,166-seat Merchant Hall and the 300-flexible seat Gregory Family Theatre. In addition, the 9,000 square-foot Didlake Grand Foyer providing much-needed event space in western Prince William County for receptions up to 600 people and seated dinners for nearly 300.

The Ticket Office Staff members provide assistance to the ticket office supervisor by handling day-to-day and event operations of the Hylton Center’s ticket office. This is a part-time, hourly wage position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level customer service to all Hylton Performing Arts Center patrons and community partners; and process mail, phone, and subscription ticket orders;
  • Provide in-person customer service at performances; and
  • Adhere to established procedures for processing cash and credit card transactions.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Excellent customer service, communications, and interpersonal skills; and
  • Familiarity with MS Windows-based programs and computerized ticketing experience are helpful.
