As a Business Intelligence and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Integration Solution Developer, you will implement and integrate BI solutions and develop Service Oriented Integration solutions and services between the Airports Authority’s systems, services, data, and databases for on premise and cloud-based platforms.

Business Intelligence and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Integration Solution Developer

Serves in the Enterprise Business Innovations and Analytics Department of the Office of Technology at the Washington Dulles International Airport.

Builds Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) flows and implements BI solutions and executes data and analytics strategies that help guide data driven decisions and helps ensure integration service flow between systems, services, data and databases in any combination of on premises and cloud-based platforms. Promotes continuous improvement and compliance in an integration platform as a service (iPaaS) on a cloud infrastructure. Performs related functions.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Builds Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) tactics to creating meaningful business processes.

Analyzes, designs, implements and maintains Business Intelligence (BI) Analytics capabilities.

Analyzes, designs, implements and maintains Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) integration solutions for traditional web services and microservices.

Develops ETL approaches that ensure the proper integration of data and information management and helps to define the overall data warehouse architecture.

Builds scalable, high throughput systems that process large amount data, in terms of velocity, verity, variability and volume.

Serves as technical team lead in the development of business intelligence reports and analysis, providing mentoring, guidance and troubleshooting to analysis team.

Designs and extends BI applications to redefine or enhance the existing OBIEE implementation into an enterprise-wide BI framework with user-defined dashboards; extract, transform, and load (ETL) platform; self-service and guided reporting; and advanced visualization (Qlik).

Participates in planning, implementing, and maintaining Service Oriented Integration solutions.

Designs and develops integration solutions using web services/microservices, integration platform as a service (iPaaS) technologies, and tools including Informatica, extract/transform/load (ETL) processes, application program interfaces (APIs), messaging patterns, and other legacy integrations.

Develops integration platform and API services using Agile methodology, continuous integration, automated deployment/release, test driven development, and Agile productivity tools.

Works to deploy integrated solutions using industry standards including extensible markup language (XML), Java script object notation (JSON), secure file transfer protocol (SFTP), hypertext transfer protocol (HTTPS), simple object access protocol (SOAP),representational state transfer (REST) and its associated security configuration.

Helps ensure that appropriate EA standards are conformed to in the delivery of SOA solutions by staff, contractors and vendors to ensure efficiency, quality, and consistency with finished products.

Assists in the development of guidelines, helpdesk materials and system knowledgebase.

Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Eight years of progressively responsible experience in Business Intelligence (BI), data warehousing, and the data integration domain including leading a BI platform (e.g., OBIEE or Microsoft) and developing analytics using advanced visualization tools (e.g., Tableau and QlikView).

Included in the eight years of experience must be three years of specialized experience in Service Oriented Integration solution development in an Integration Platform such as a Service (iPaaS) on a cloud infrastructure and/or in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform.

Skill in developing data applications in Cloud (AWS, Azure, Informatica).

Skill in configuring and administering Highly Available (HA) ETL infrastructure to optimize the data warehousing architecture.

Knowledge of and ability to apply corporate BI programs to design and extend BI applications using a framework (e.g., OBIEE BI platforms) and data warehouse and information visualization (Noetix) analytics utilizing tools (e.g., Tableau and QlikView)

Knowledge of and ability to apply integration solution development in an Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) on a cloud infrastructure or in a Service Oriented Architecture platform.

Knowledge of and ability to apply web services, web Application Program Interface (API) management, iPaaS technologies, and tools including Informatica, Extract/Transform/Load (ETL), messaging patterns, and other legacy integrations.

Knowledge of and skill in deploying systems using industry standards, including Extensible Markup Language (XML), JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTPS), Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and Representational State Transfer (REST).

Knowledge of and ability to apply application integration best practices, design patterns, and standards.

Knowledge of and ability to apply big data concepts, open source scripting, networking, and security.

Ability to make detailed analyses of data and information and make recommendations.

Ability to speak and write effectively.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in legacy data integration using Informatica or other ETL technologies.

Experience with large SaaS application and big data integration.

Experience working with Location Intelligence with geographic information system (GIS) and spatial data.

Experience in advanced analytics, Software as a Service (SaaS) BI, OLAP, IoT/beacon and predictive modeling using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and ERP data.


EDUCATION

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Management Information Systems, or related field.

Work is typically reviewed in progress and upon completion for quantity, quality, timeliness, teamwork, customer service, and other factors.

May work onsite at any of the Airports Authority locations.
