Duties will include the combined skills of Graphic Design and Web Content Curation/Management, including creating, editing, publishing and sharing content to raise brand awareness. Incumbent will design, layout and produce creative concepts for print and digital products, including website content, infographics and other materials that advances organizational goals. Provides support to the USRA President and CEO, Corporate Affairs, Proposals (Corporate Strategy and Development), Human Resources, and Programs and Institutes as needed. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:Creates, improves and maintains content for the USRA corporate external websiteSeeks changes from USRA technical and administrative personnel to develop and update website features and experts' spotlightsOptimizes web content according to Search Engine Optimization (SEO)Collaborates with communications team to plan and develop website content, style, and layoutCreates various materials with cohesive designs that reflect USRA's culture, including fact sheets, advertisements, infographics, certificates for awards, logos, stationery, PowerPoint templates, conference materials/giveaways, large-scale backdrops and banners, Board book covers, etc.Selects colors, images, text styles and layouts appropriate for each projectIncorporates changes recommended by USRA technical and administrative personnel into final designsWorks with content writers to ensure brand consistencyEnsures compliance with law (eg copyright and data protection)Edits, proofreads, and improves writers' postsRequired Qualifications: Education: BA/BS in English, Journalism, or other relevant field; or, equivalent working experienceExperience:Minimum 3 years' experience as an in-house web designer/graphic designer or similar role (work samples will be required if interviewed)Licenses, Certifications:N/A Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Solid writing and editing skills in EnglishExcellence in graphic design appropriate for businessFamiliarity with SEO guidelinesAttributes: Critical thinking skills to solve visual design challengesEffective oral and written communication skillsAbility to work in a team environment within a fast-paced nonprofit industryAbility to communicate with stakeholders to ensure that designs accurately reflect the desired message and effectively express informationAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously while under tight deadlines Technology: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and PhotoshopExperience working with Content Management SystemsBasic understanding of HTML and web publishingProficiency in Microsoft Office, including strong experience with PowerPointVideo editing and motion graphics skills a plus.Knowledge of Drupal, WordPress, and Mura a plusKnowledge of Javascript and JQuery a plusKnowledge of ColdFusion a plusWorking Conditions: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. Extensive online usage.
