Financial Analyst, Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center - Georgetown University Medical Center

Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center clinicians are dedicated to providing the best professional care, delivered with compassion, for all patients. The Financial Analyst provides administrative and finance support to the LCCC Associate Director of Administration, the Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) Administrator, and senior leadership.  S/he is responsible for the preparation of complex research budgets (pre-award administration), post-award financial management of grants, and assistance in LCCC financial management. Reporting to the LCCC Associate Director of Administration, the Financial Analyst has duties that include but are not limited to:

Budget

  • Works with financial analysts to resolve any discrepancies in expenses and makes sure cost transfers and Journal Vouchers (JVs) are prepared when requested.
  • Works with the Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) to make sure that budgets are loaded correctly.
  • Works with Sponsored Projects Financial Operations Department (SPFO) to reconcile budget and prepare financial report for National Cancer Institute (NCI) at the end of the funding period. 

Processing

  • Processes expense authorizations, travel advancements and reimbursements, and purchase requisitions. 
  • Prepares journal vouchers, payroll journal vouchers, and other accounting forms as needed to recover research and administrative expenses.

Research and Grants Support

Prepares complex research budgets (pre-award administration), and post-award financial management of grants; and assists the Associate Director in the financial management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (healthcare administration, business, accounting, finance) or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, as well as organizational capabilities
  • Finance and accounting and administrative experience
  • Technical skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and financial systems
