Visiting Assistant Professor, Counseling (1 Year Renewable Appointment)
The Department of Counseling seeks a practitioner-based counselor educator who shares our vision for training highly competent and effective professional counselors. Applicants should demonstrate a professional interest and teaching experience in CACREP-core content areas. The applicant may also be required to advise students and participants in service to the department, university and professional activities. The main teaching responsibilities will be assigned in the Clinical Mental health counseling program beginning Fall, 2018.
Earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision and licensed or licensed eligible in Virginia, D.C., and/or Maryland. Candidates should also hold certification with NBCC and demonstrate evidence of a professional and clinical activities.
Preference will be given to applicants from a CACREP-accredited program, with documented clinical experience in the field of clinical mental health counseling, and active professional involvement in professional counseling associations.
