Jewish Engagement Coordinator - Campus Ministry

The Jewish Engagement Coordinator supports this mission by building and strengthening student outreach efforts within the Jewish chaplaincy (Jewish Life). The Coordinator recruits, trains and supervises a team of student leaders and interns to build a Jewish community that is vibrant and inclusive of all its diversity. The Coordinator provides all administrative and logistical support, as well as regular leadership training and Jewish educational content. Reporting to the Director for Jewish Life, the Coordinator has duties that include but are not limited to:

Jewish Student Engagement

  • Advises Jewish Student Association (JSA).
  • Recruits, trains, and supervises GUish Interns (student employees).
  • Provides personal presence at 50% of JSA and GUish programs.
  • Attends Shabbat twice monthly and one retreat annually.

Jewish Administrative Support

  • Manages Jewish Life rabbinic calendar.
  • Consults with Inter-religious coordinator on Jewish Life programmatic calendar and weekly newsletter; and ensures coordination with Jewish student organization calendars, as well as Center for Jewish Civilization program calendar.
  • Provides logistical support and personal presence for programs as assigned

Jewish Life Team Work

  • Participates in weekly staff meetings and supervision.
  • Coordinates with Jewish Life staff regarding JSA and GUish activities.


  • Bachelor's degree in Jewish education or equivalent
  • 1 year of post-university work experience in Jewish communal contexts
  • Deep knowledge of Jewish tradition, institutions and demographics and contemporary Jewish thought and practice
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-faith ministry context
